Since 1999, The Night of 1000 Voices has delighted capacity audiences at the Royal Albert Hall. On Spring Bank Holiday Sunday 6 May 2012, once again thrill to the sight and sound of the huge 1000 Voices Massed Choir from all over the British Isles, Stephen Disley playing the magnificent organ of the Royal Albert Hall, and the City of London Philharmonic who will, as always, accompany some very special musical theatre stars from London and New York in a musical night to remember.
Hosted by national treasure, Christopher Biggins, stars confirmed from London’s West End include Ricardo Afonso, Joanna Ampil, Daniel Boys, Tiffany Graves, Bonnie Langford, Peter Polycarpou, Clive Rowe, Caroline Sheen and Sally Ann Triplett. From Europe, Germany’s leading man, Yngve Gasoy-Romdal, and perennial 1000 Voices’s favourite, David Michael Johnson. Kerry Ellis (WhatsonStage nominee for Best Solo Performer) will return to the scene of her 2011 ANTHEMS: The Concert and the producers also promise some special VIP guests.
For this Olympic and Diamond Jubilee Year The Night of 1000 Voices will be celebrating the Best of British including some of the most requested songs from Evita, The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérablesand, new for 2012, Miss Saigon.
In 2012, The Night of 1000 Voices again be for the benefit of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is dedicated to saving lives through leading UK research into better treatments and cures for all blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on people coming together to fundraise.
Cathy Gilman, Chief Executive, says: "Since 1960, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research has invested in world-class research and survival rates have increased dramatically for patients with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. However, there’s still a long way to go and money raised from this evening will help us get closer to a cure.
In 2010, The Night of 1000 Voices raised for us in excess of £140,000.00 – a phenomenal sum.”
The West End’s distinguished maestros, Stuart Morley and David Firman, will once again supervise the massed musical forces and director Hugh Wooldridge says “This evening is a must for all who love musicals. Come along and hear the best performers in the world performing some of the greatest songs. Come and join in the fun; come and raise funds for this most splendid charity whilst raising the roof of the Royal Albert Hall.”

How it all began...
The Night of 1000 Voices has thrilled capacity audiences at The Royal Albert Hall since 1999. The Night of 1000 Voices was originally produced as the centenary celebration for The National Opera and Dramatic Association with 1000 members of NODA singing songs from the shows.
Subsequently, for the last 10 years, an audience has thrilled to the sight and sound of the huge The Night of 1000 Voices massed choir from around the British Isles, seventy five children and young artistes from the Sylvia Young Theatre School and the London Studio Centre together with The City of London Philharmonic (HEY, MR PRODUCER!, SONDHEIM TONIGHT and CHESS IN CONCERT) who accompany some very special stars from
London, New York and Europe in a musical night to remember.
Every year a musical great or an aspect of musical theatre is chosen to be celebrated - these have included The Broadway Musical, Cy Coleman, Stephen Sondheim, Tim Rice, John Kander and Fred Ebb and Trevor Nunn.
In 2006, for the first time and as a tribute to Caron Keating and Gloria Hunniford, The Night of 1000 Voicesperformed to a capacity audience in the 8,000-seat Odyssey Arena.

Money has been raised for The Alan Jay Lerner Fund for Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden Hospital,The Caron Keating Foundation, The Missing Person's Helpline, The Lord's Taverners, ADDISS, The National Autistic Society, Variety Club Children's Charity and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
