About Us
Almost ten years ago, as a result of attending a personal development course in New Orleans, John made a life changing decision to ‘bring the joy of singing’ to as many people as possible. The concept of Sing Live was born and we decided to live the ‘American Dream’ – but in England! Since then a massive family community of thousands of people, with one simple thing in common – the joy of singing has grown in the UK. We now have eight Sing Live communities based in major cities throughout England and Northern Ireland – with a new one in the planning stages. We have a team of eight full time employees who work constantly to ensure the Sing Live experience is one to be enjoyed and cherished by each of our singers. Without their hard work and dedication over the years Sing Live UK would not have happened. We thank them all from the bottom of our hearts.
The original plan was to have one company based in Leeds – performing two concerts per year, so this year should be concert number 18 coming up! In reality event number 127 is next on the blocks!
During that time we have been privileged to visit 119 cities in 23 countries – and approaching 40,000 singers have appeared in our concerts.
The enthusiasm, love and dedication of our singers make us extremely proud to promote our simple but often life changing concept throughout the UK . We have had incredible fun in developing this company and the fantastic support and affection shown to us has been very humbling.
Our concerts are tribute to the skill, courage and talent of ordinary people from all over the UK who made an important decision: they wanted to sing, but on the big stage. This is the essence of Sing Live. They undergo a three month professional training program to prepare for the performance. You will see people of all ages, all walks of life, - just like you - all with one common aim – to Sing Live and perform in a magnificent venue and entertain you with the very cream of songs from the musials, the movies and beyond.
We have people of all ages and experience, all abilities, and all cultures. To each and every one of them we say a huge ‘thank you’ for making our English version of the American Dream come true.
Add to that our new companies in the USA and our concept of bringing the joy of singing to the people and our company saying of ‘ordinary people doing extraordinary things in exciting places is now truly transatlantic.
